Auguria Privacy Policy

The short version

There is no account to create, and your journal never leaves your iPhone. To compose a reading, Auguria sends one photo of your palm or your cup, or the cards you drew, to our reading service once. The photo is used for that reading and is not kept.

What leaves your device, and why

• An anonymous identifier. When you first open Auguria, a random anonymous ID is created for this installation. It counts your free readings each week and connects your purchases to this device. It carries no name, email address or phone number, and we cannot tell who you are from it.
• The photo you take for a reading. A palm or cup photo is reduced in size and sent over an encrypted connection to our reading service, which passes it to the language-model provider that composes the text (currently OpenAI or Google) under that provider's API terms. The photo is processed for that one reading and is not stored by us afterwards. The same applies to the optional question you type and to the cards of a tarot spread.
• Purchase state. Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and unlock the full app; RevenueCat receives the anonymous ID and the purchase receipt. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
• Usage analytics. We record anonymous product events through Amplitude and Google Analytics for Firebase: for example that a palm reading was completed, which screen was opened, or that the paywall was shown. Photos, your question and the text of a reading are never part of these events.
• Session recordings. To see where people get stuck, Amplitude's session replay records the shape of a session: the screens opened, the taps made and how the app responded. All text is masked on your device before anything is sent and every photo view is hidden, so a recording shows the flow, not what you were looking at or reading.
• No ad tracking. Auguria does not track you across other companies' apps and websites, shows no tracking prompt and carries no advertising identifier. Apple's own install measurement tells us only which App Store campaign an install came from, never who you are.

What stays on your iPhone

Your journal, your notes, the text of every reading, your card of the day and your streak are stored only on your device. We have no copy of them. Deleting the app deletes them.

What we never collect

No name, no email address, no contacts, no location, no health data. Auguria reads only the single photo you choose to take or pick for a reading; it does not scan your photo library.

Retention and your rights

The anonymous ID and the weekly reading count live in our Firebase project for as long as the installation exists. Analytics data is retained by our providers under their standard windows. You can ask us to delete the records tied to your anonymous ID by writing to the address below.

Children

Auguria is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
